Oral Bacteria
In our office, we try to be as comprehensive as we possibly can. We even check the things that we cannot normally see: bacteria! With our Accu-Scope 3000-LED microscope, we are able to screen bacteria samples taken from below the gumline where the most harmful, anaerobic bacteria tend to be found. We take pride in this technology because bacteria play a large role in oral health and GI health, which as we know are connected and impact systemic health simultaneously. This basic screening tool helps us determine a patient’s risk for gum disease. After inspecting the sample on the microscope, we counsel patients on our recommended protocols to aid in building and maintaining a healthy microflora. Prevention is our goal!
